Milliner Julia Pagán sets up shop in Avondale

Chapeaus just don't have the cache that they once did. In fact, few if any people even know what a chapeau is. (It's a hat.) But back in the day, handcrafted hats used to be a major part of any lady or gentleman's wardrobe. Modern folks, on the other hand, are more likely to leave the house bareheaded — for shame! Accessorizing with a hat is almost as much of a lost art as hatmaking itself, but milliners like Julia Pagán are working hard to bring the hat back.

  Julia Pagán is originally from the San Francisco Bay area, but now happily resides in Charleston, SC. Having adapted to the subtle differences of East Coast living since 2002 when she first made the journey from California to New York City to pursue her interest in the world of Fashion. As a practicing milliner, one who makes, trims, designs and sells hats, Julia has been carefully selecting meaningful materials and crafting her own unique hat designs since 2003.
